ABOUT THE PRESENTERS
Martin Johnson (left), producer of Secrets, is an international award-winning radio producer and concept developer at the Soundtelling podcast company. Johnson’s programs have aired around the world from Australia to Canada and the US. His investigative podcast, Spår, triggered a retrial for a Swedish murder and helped get a man released from prison after 13 years, creating headlines across the world, including from the BBC, Newsweek and The Times.
Mohamed El Abed (right), host and co-producer of Secrets, is a radio producer and award-winning concept developer at the Soundtelling podcast company. In Sweden he has produced several radio shows and podcasts dealing with subjects such as diversity and integration. Mohamed has a background in political science and urban planning, working for the city of Stockholm and the Swedish Government.
Julie Shapiro is the executive producer of Radiotopia from PRX - a curated network of extraordinary, story-driven podcasts. From 2014-15, she was the executive producer of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's Creative Audio Unit. In 2000 she co-founded the Third Coast International Audio Festival, where as artistic director she prioritized innovative audio and a cross-pollinating international listening culture. Shapiro has taught radio to university students, presented at conferences all over the globe, and produced stories for the airwaves and podcasts in the US and beyond. Find her online at @jatomic.
