LISTEN MORE WITH TAMAR AVISHAI

The PRX Podcast Garage and RadioPublic are teaming up to host Listen More - a night of listening curated by a local producer. First up is Tamar Avishai, host of The Lonely Palette. She'll guide us through an hour of audio stories, some of which are featured on her RadioPublic playlist, and raise questions for small-group discussion about the visual power of audio.

This event is free. Please reserve your seat here.

TAMAR SAYS

The stories I'll play for you explore how visual an audio story can be - and prove that the most formidable images today are coming from your headphones. When I was getting my show The Lonely Palette off the ground, most people told me that an audio show about art is a pretty nutty idea. What is radio if not the absence of visuals? But one of the greatest things about radio is how unfixed the image is, how you can imagine what radio hosts look like, and what the places and people they describe look like, all based on the intimacy of the speaker, the fidelity of the tape, and the quality of the writing.
